Be kind and respectful of the community and public spaces.
Abide by local laws and etiquette - such as leash laws and having your poop bag handy.
Keep private communications private.
No soliciting unless it's for puppy kisses.
The club has zero tolerance for spreading misinformation, bullying, disrespect, threats or aggression, racism, violence, animal abuse, fraud, misrepresenting the group or using it for personal gain.
Respect your fellow Papillons.
Be nice to the puppies. Just try.
Do not tailgate the Greyhound club, they might mistake you for a bunny.
Try to keep barking at a minimum, unless of course it’s a squirrel.
Soliciting public admiration is most definetly permitted.
Bring your stroller - whether you need it or just like to ride around on your throne.
Festive wear for the pawlidays is strongly encouraged.
The club has zero tolerance for behavior that negatively impacts the health and safety of dogs or owners in the club.
Members are added to the club’s private communication channels. Please observe these guidelines:
Be mindful that you belong to a diverse community.
Please keep topics relevant to the club and our dogs.
The event calendar is privately distributed to club members only.
Do not forward, screenshot or share club communications publicly or outside the club.
Have an emergency or need a help with your pap?
If you have an emergency, need a favor or are looking for help, please do not post "asks" to the group.
Instead, send your request directly to the club organizer who will help you navigate solutions or put you in touch with individual resources.
Polite Pups
Be mindful and present when introducing your dog.
Ask before picking up a dog. And not while reaching for it!
Always ask before sharing treats. Treats are discouraged due to the various diets, allergies, and temperaments of the group.
Always pick up your dog waste.
Respect the Privacy of Minors
Respect the privacy of the group online and in-person.
Ask for permission before taking photos or videos of minors or sharing them on social media.
If you unknowingly capture minors in the background (it’s common at a park!), cover or crop them out before publishing.
Do not record or distribute audio from conversations without consent.
Respect Personal Privacy
If you are an adult who does not want their image shared online, in social media, or emails, you are responsible for informing others at each event.
Do not share other’s private information, without their consent.
Give Credit on Borrowed Content
Provide attribution when sharing content belonging to others. Caption “Photo by: Jane D.” and/or tag them in your social media post.
How do I know when it’s OK to share other’s content?
If it’s not published by the owner, it's best to ask for permission for use.
For stuff already out there…
The general rule is if it’s posted to their public social page, you can re-share or “repost” it without discussion with attribution. Remember to tag them on the photo or in the caption @handle. If their page is private, get permission before sharing it outside the channel.
Club communications/calendars/details are private and should never be shared to social media or public web pages.
MEMBERSHIP
Cost & Commitment
Membership is free.
There is no soliciting or using the club for commercial purposes.
Each member or guest is responsible for personal expenses.
As a member you can join as many or as few walks/socials as you'd like.
New Puppy & Vaccinations
We're a happy, healthy club. Puppies should be at least 16 weeks old (10-14 days after 3rd round of vaccination) before safely attending group activities with other dogs. A safe alternative is to bring them in a stroller until they are caught up on their puppy vaccination schedule.
For the health of all pets, we expect members stay up-to-date on vaccinations as required by law (Rabies) and/or as directed by your veterinarian.
The club does not ask for proof of vaccination.
COMMUNITY
What's our hashtag? #papclubsd
The club does not have an official social media page. This is intentional....
The club is not about one person or organization, it is many dogs and people. A community! Instead, search our hashtag #papclubsd on Instragram for posts from our community. Discover and follow members through the hashtag. Use it when posting your club photos and videos to be discovered. Send your post to our club organizer @lemondropthepap on Instagram to get instantly noticed.
How do I invite others to the club?
Send anyone interested in the club to this website. Here they can fill out our interest form to be a guest at a walk and learn about joining the club.
Can I bring a guest?
If you have a visitor in town they are welcome to attend as your guest. If they are traveling with a dog that is not a Papillon, the general rule is to leave the dog home to ensure our club dogs feel safe and comfortable. To make an exception, please contact the club organizer directly to get permission to bring your guest’s dog. The same applies to situations where you are dog-sitting.
Visit our newcomer FAQ for details and feel free to share this page with your guest.
How do I remove my image?
If an image of you is used on this website that you would like removed, please use the contact form to let us know. When attending socials/walks it is enevitable that photos will be taken and shared online - whether it be by the group or by the public.
For unwanted images published places other than this website, please contact the source directly.
